Jacob L'Armand   

              Jake L'Armand is an accomplished violin player.  He attended Widener University before attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he double majored in both Jazz Composition and Music Education.

              Jake performed in the Berklee String Orchestra as a violinist, soloist, and composer, as well as in the Senior Jazz Composition Concert at Berklee as a composer, arranger, band leader, and violinist. In 2005 he received the "String Player Of The Year" honor from Berklee.  He has also performed as an orchestra violinist with Michael Brecker and Charlie Haden, and over the years he has gigged all over the Philadelphia area playing classical, jazz, pop, rock, country, and blues.

              Jake tutored students privately in his second two years at Berklee, specializing in harmony, arranging, and ear training.  He also worked as a student teacher at the Boston Latin School in all different areas of their music program, including their band, string orchestra, and chorus.  He has taught privately using the Suzuki violin method for classical training with younger students, and teaches various other styles to older students.  Jake teaches classical training from beginner to upper intermediate levels, as well as alternate string techniques, music theory, and arranging from beginner to advanced levels.
