Lessons

Private instruction is available in our air-conditioned studios, Monday through Thursday until 9:00 PM, Friday afternoon until 7:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Price rates stated below are per half hour. All lessons fees are paid directly to the teacher. Lessons are paid for monthly, by the first lesson of each month.

Chatterband 1990-1999, Cardiac All Stars 1999-2003.

Top 40 Club Bands, corporate events, weddings, small jazz ensembles, dixieland, polka, latin-salsa, fife & drum, rhythm & blues, community orchestras.

Teaching philosophy:

"Tailoring studies to fit the students’ needs. Providing a fun yet challenging atmosphere for the student."

What age will you accept a student?:

"A lot depends on the maturity level of the student, but generally I like to start no earlier than 4th grade."

Levels taught:

Beginner to semi-professional.

What would a student expect to learn and how?:

"A solid foundation of theory (scales) and proper playing technique. Using repetition (practice), but also employing a method that requires the student to not only provide the correct answers to questions, but to explain how they arrived at their answers."

What books do you teach from?:

"Varies depending on instrument, needs, and playing level of the student, but I seem to favor the Rubank books."

 Anything else we should know about you?:

"I am also employed as an historic tour guide in Philadelphia/Valley Forge, and have worked as a history/social studies tutor."
